9th October 2008
As the credit crunch continues to dominate the world news and in deed we are
entering very uncertain times I thought it would be a nice idea to start
with some good news. We continue to enjoy a growing relationship with Oxford
Hotels and we look ahead with great anticipation as we continue to remain
their key supplier in Scotland and England. We would also like to announce
that we have secured some new business and are looking to develop a stronger
market share of the Scottish recruitment business rather that this been left
to one of two agencies - watch this space for more news.
From discussions with our clients this week generally trade seems fairly
good, people will stay eat out and visit hotels although it could be less
frequent. My advice is to look after your core business, make sure your
teams are focused on looking after the customers and keep costs under
control. With over 20 years experience in the hotel industry in premier
hotels such as Gleneagles I would be delighted to offer any free advice with
regards to recruitment, marketing or any others aspects of your business,
please call the office.
I would like to congratulate David on his new position down in Barnsley as
Deputy General Manager, good luck and I know the team are looking forward to
working with you. We would also like to thank all of our Relief Chefs for
their hard work over the summer months and our grading system means that the
regular chefs who turned up and worked well will be given the first option
of all new jobs as we enter a traditionally quiet period of the year.
As we move forward into the final quarter of 2008 we have just picked up new
contracts in Central London, North Wales, North Yorkshire, Barnsley,
Cambridge, Yeovil, Hawick, Newcastle upon Tyne, Dumfries and Oxford. This is
down to a lot of hard work by the team and well done to Mary for your
support, what would do without you!!!
On a final note good luck to all the home football nations in the World Cup
Qualifiers this weekend, as half my family are from Auchterarder in
Perthshire I have some loyalty towards Scotland although come 5.15pm on
Saturday I will be cheering on Rooney, Walcott and Co. Lets hope Theo can
reproduce his stunning form in Crotia.
Thank you for your continued support.
